Sozopol is famous for its more than 180 houses, dating from mid XVIII century and the beginning of XIX century, typical with their narrow and short cobbled small streets, which give a touch of romance of the Old Town. The Sozopol house shows the features of the traditional Bulgarian house. It has two floors, built-up with stone fundaments and stone walls on the first floor and adobe walls, covered with wood on the second floor.
The church and monasteries in Sozopol during the middle Ages have extended the number of 28, but unfortunately, none of them are preserved nowadays. The oldest church which you can still visit is “Saint George” – built-up in 1828.
